Description
Manetti Water-Based Liquid Bitumen is a ready-to-use ageing medium for creating patina and aged effects on gilded surfaces. Developed as a water-based alternative to solvent-based patinas and varnishes, it is also suitable for hobby and decoupage work.
It adheres to acrylic golds, gold pastes, acrylic paints, and oil paints, and is often used in gilding alongside powders and shells. Best applied with a pad or brush over the full surface, it should be allowed to absorb into the underlayer before any excess is removed. Because it is water-based, it can also be overcoated with solvent-based varnishes.
