Description
Manetti Water-Based Protection is a clear, water-dilutable single-component polyurethane varnish for protecting gilded surfaces, especially those finished with precious metals. Available in gloss and matt versions, it is designed to provide strong adhesion and even spreadability while altering the natural brightness of the gilded surface as little as possible.
Ready to use and suitable for indoor gilding as well as outdoor applications, it is UV-resistant and made not to yellow or flake over time. It should be applied to a clean, dry, grease-free surface with a brush, spray, or pad, with a second coat applied after 4 to 6 hours; the varnish is fully dry after around 24 hours and has an approximate coverage of 10 to 14m² per litre.
